Two Years In, Verna’s Favorite Part of the Job Is Still Simple: Just Being There

Meet Verna, our Sunny Days Mon Valley Featured Caregiver for the month of September!

Verna has been with Sunny Days In Home Care Mon Valley for two years. She’s originally from Latrobe, Pennsylvania, and still calls the Latrobe area home today. Verna is a widow and has one child, along with a full house of furry companions — three dogs and two cats keep things lively at home.

Her favorite food is Chinese food, her favorite movie is Paul, and she loves listening to country music. When she does have time outside of work, Verna stays busy taking care of things around her own home.

A Deep Commitment to Her Clients

Verna is incredibly dedicated to her work, often spending 12-hour days caring for others. Ask her about the best part of the job, and her answer is simple: just being there to take care of her client.

When asked what caregiving means to her, Verna shared that it means a lot knowing she’s able to care for someone who may not be able to do everything for themselves.
