Darlene has been a dedicated caregiver with Sunny Days In-Home Care Mon Valley for about ten years. Originally from New Castle, PA, she now lives in McKees Rocks. Darlene is a proud mother of eight children — Bernard, Ty, Art, Darwin Sr., Wayne, Miguel, Donte, and Darius — and she also has four cats and one dog. Outside of work, Darlene enjoys visiting her sister in New Castle and spending time fishing with her family.

What Caregiving Means to Darlene
Darlene’s favorite part of being a caregiver is helping those in need. To her, caregiving means listening to others and showing them that you genuinely care.

Darlene doesn’t mince words: “Do a good job, listen, and NO ABUSE!”
Deep Creek, and Every Aisle at Walmart
One of Darlene’s favorite memories is taking her client — who is also her grandson — to Deep Creek with the family. Seeing him smile and hearing how excited he was to go back the following year made the trip extra special.
She also remembers a fun shopping trip to Walmart, where the two of them walked through every aisle looking at all the different things together.
