Featured Caregiver of the Month – June: Meet Ashley

This June, we are excited to spotlight Ashley as our Featured Caregiver!

Dedicated Caregiver Serving Southwestern Pennsylvania

Ashley has been a caregiver with Sunny Days Southwestern PA for two months and has already made a wonderful impression on both clients and coworkers. Originally from McMurray, Pennsylvania, she now lives in Bethel Park with her four children: Novia, Quinn, Ashton, and Naria.

Ashley enjoys a variety of foods, including steak, fresh fruit, and pastries. Her favorite movie is Casino, and her music playlist includes everything from Oldies and Country to R&B and Rap. A fun fact about Ashley is that she describes herself as a “jack of all trades, master of none.” When she is not caring for clients, she enjoys spending time outdoors and working on projects around her home.

Why Ashley Loves Caregiving

Ashley’s favorite part about being a caregiver is the meaningful connections she builds with the people she serves. She believes that caregiving is about more than helping with daily tasks—it’s about creating trust, offering support, and making a positive impact in someone’s life.

When asked what caregiving means to her, Ashley shared:

“To be understanding, empathetic, and supportive.”

Her advice to new caregivers is simple but powerful:

  • Be empathetic
  • Be patient
  • Take time to build genuine relationships with your clients

One of Ashley’s favorite memories with a client was taking a trip to the zoo together, creating a fun experience and lasting memories along the way.
