Dedicated Caregiver Serving Michigan’s Great Lakes Region
Phyllis has been a caregiver with Sunny Days Great Lakes for three years. Originally from Iron River, Michigan, she still calls it home today. Phyllis is happily married to her husband, Dan, and together they have three children — Jim, Kimberlee, and Traci — as well as five wonderful grandchildren: Hayley, Cambrie, Rawson, Justin, and Cade.
A Few Fun Facts About Phyllis
Phyllis’s favorite food is burgers, her favorite movie is Pretty Woman, and she loves listening to country music. A fun fact about Phyllis is that this is her 50th year teaching baton twirling and tumbling! She also loves dancing and horses. Outside of work, she enjoys playing pickleball and bocce ball, dancing, and staying active at 78 years young.
Why Phyllis Loves Caregiving
Phyllis’s favorite part about being a caregiver is helping people and meeting so many wonderful individuals. When asked what caregiving means to her, she simply shared:
“Sharing, caring, and love.”
Her advice to new caregivers is to always be patient and kind, as those qualities make all the difference. One of Phyllis’s favorite memories with a client is helping someone learn to walk again after they had been unable to walk before — a moment she will always cherish.
