Featured Caregiver of the Month – May: Meet John
At Sunny Days In-Home Care Southwestern PA, we are proud to recognize caregivers who make a meaningful impact in the lives of seniors and families throughout communities like Washington, Uniontown, Greensburg, and surrounding Southwestern Pennsylvania areas. This May, we are excited to spotlight John as our Featured Caregiver!
Dedicated Caregiver Serving Southwestern Pennsylvania
John has been part of the Sunny Days Southwestern PA team for two and a half years. Originally from Canton, Ohio, he currently lives in Waynesburg, Pennsylvania. He is the youngest of thirteen children and a devoted father who brings compassion, humor, and reliability to every client he serves.
John’s favorite food is a good home-cooked meal, his favorite movie is Commando, and he enjoys listening to Country music. One thing everyone quickly notices about John is his ability to make people laugh and smile. Outside of work, he enjoys ginseng hunting and relaxing in his man cave.
Why John Loves Caregiving
For John, caregiving is about making sure clients feel safe, supported, and respected. His favorite part of caregiving is knowing his clients are in good hands when he is there and being able to help people who can no longer do certain things on their own.
When asked what caregiving means to him, John shared:
“Going above your means to help the elderly and to show them that there are people there for them.”
John’s advice to new caregivers is simple but meaningful:
- Be yourself
- Treat every client like family
- Lead with compassion and patience
When it comes to favorite memories with clients, John says there are simply too many to name just one.
