Friedrich has been a valued caregiver with Sunny Days Northwestern PA for six months. Born and raised in New Castle, PA, he still calls it home today. Friedrich is currently single and lives with his mom, stepdad, and brother — Karen, Scott, and Adam.
A Few Fun Facts About Friedrich
Friedrich’s favorite food is anything quick and easy, and his favorite movie is Masters of the Universe. As a DJ, his taste in music runs wide — from rock and metal to pop and K-pop. A fun fact about Friedrich is that he DJs for fun and is a big gamer! Outside of work, he enjoys relaxing and spending time doing the things he loves.
Why Friedrich Loves Caregiving
Friedrich’s favorite part about being a caregiver is the sense of pride that comes from caring for others. When asked what caregiving means to him, Friedrich shared:
“They might not realize it, but I like showing I care, even if it’s just going to the store for a client.”
His advice to new caregivers is to take care of themselves, too. Friedrich encourages caregivers not to work themselves to exhaustion, and to make time — even if it’s just one day — to do something fun and recharge.
One of Friedrich’s favorite memories with a client was helping him get up and into his wheelchair after he had been wanting to do so for a long time, and seeing him cleaned up and smiling because of that accomplishment.
