Featured Caregiver of the Month – April: Meet Tabitha
At Sunny Days In-Home Care Mon Valley, we are proud to recognize the compassionate individuals who make a meaningful difference in the lives of our clients every day. This April, we are excited to spotlight Tabitha as our Featured Caregiver!
Dedicated Caregiver Serving the Mon Valley Community
Tabitha has been a valued member of the Sunny Days Mon Valley team for six years. Originally from Pittsburgh, PA, she now resides in McKees Rocks, PA, where she enjoys life with her six beloved dogs, her daughter, and her three grandchildren.
Outside of caregiving, Tabitha enjoys spending time coloring and being with her family and fur babies. She has a fun and vibrant personality—her favorite color is “glitter,” she loves all types of music, and her favorite movies include Dirty Dancing and Empire Records. Her favorite foods? Butter, sugar, and cheese—simple and satisfying!
What Caregiving Means to Tabitha
For Tabitha, caregiving is about truly seeing and hearing the person in front of her. When asked what caregiving means to her, she shared:
“Listening and paying attention to what they need and not what others assume. Seeing that they are looked at as people and not a paycheck.”
Her favorite part of being a caregiver is the ability to make a real difference in the lives of those who need support. She values the meaningful relationships she builds with her clients and the trust that grows over time.
Advice for New Caregivers
Tabitha encourages new caregivers to stay present and intentional in their work. Her advice:
- Be vigilant and aware
- Pay close attention to your client’s needs
- Most importantly—listen
These simple but powerful principles are what make caregiving truly impactful.
