At Sunny Days In-Home Care Ohio, we are proud to recognize caregivers who make a positive difference in the lives of seniors and families throughout communities like Youngstown, Canton, Akron, Ashtabula, and surrounding Northeast Ohio areas. This August, we are excited to spotlight Jeramie as our Featured Caregiver!
Jeramie has been a caregiver with Sunny Days Ohio for three months and has already made a meaningful impact on clients and the team. Originally from Tulsa, Oklahoma, he currently lives in Negley, Ohio. Jeramie has been married to his wife, Tennile, for nearly 27 years, and together they have two grown children, Jason and Amanda. Their family also includes two dogs: Maggie, an energetic 4-year-old Chihuahua and Jack Russell mix, and Patches, a Pit Bull and Whippet mix who has been part of their family for 13 years.
Jeramie’s favorite food is chicken, his favorite movie is Inside Out, and he enjoys listening to Christian music. A fun fact about Jeramie is that he likes to joke around during difficult situations to help lighten the mood and ease bad feelings. Outside of work, he spends much of his time with his wife and also enjoys being outdoors and surrounded by nature.
Why Jeramie Loves Caregiving
Jeramie’s favorite part about being a caregiver is the rewarding feeling that comes from knowing he is helping someone who truly needs it. To him, caregiving means giving his time and energy to assist people with the everyday things they may no longer be able to do on their own. His faith also plays an important role in how he views caregiving and the value of giving to others.
His advice to new caregivers is both powerful and compassionate:
“Always show compassion and respect, even when it may not always be returned in the same way. Also, make time for yourself to relax and recharge so you can continue giving your best to others.”
When asked about his favorite memory with a client, Jeramie shared that he cherishes them all—the good and the bad. One of the greatest things he has gained from working in healthcare is the opportunity to learn new things and build companionship with people from many different walks of life.
